BWCS is delighted to announce a major new keynote speaker for this year’s WiFi on Trains Conference – Train Communications Systems 2015 (London, 10th and 11th of June).

Gavin James, project sponsor of the Digital Railways Group in the Department for Transport, and the man behind the government’s proposed £50 million investment in free, on-train WiFi in the UK, will speak on the first day, outlining future plans for wireless connectivity on the rail network.

"In many ways the UK is leading the world in this sector," argues BWCS CEO Graham Wilde, "and we are delighted that Gavin and his team will be joining us for the two day event."

As ever, the conference is firmly focused on getting train operators from all over the world to share their real-life stories of putting WiFi onto their trains, fighting to keep the customers happy and their struggle to add new services and increase bandwidth.

Danish rail authority Banedanmark will also talk about its project to persuade mobile operators and train companies to work together to help achieve better trackside coverage in Denmark, a project on which BWCS participated.

Jim Baker will be reporting on how the much anticipated wayside network trial is progressing in the US. Other speakers will come from Indian Railways; the world’s largest train operator, Deutsche Bahn, and a host of other train companies in Europe, the US and Asia.
