Andy Morris has been appointed as the General Manager for MTR Training and will be growing the railway and non-railway activities of the business.

Andy joins from Catalis Rail Training, where he was the operational director, and brings with him significant experience of training and business management in a range of environments.

Andy joined BR in 1992 as an on-track plant electrician and has progressed through a variety of roles including technical trainer for BR, training and development manager for Western Track Renewals, training centre manager for RelayFast, training operations manager for Jarvis with responsibility for multiple sites, and then onto Catalis where he worked his way up from rail safety manager to operational director over a seven-year period.

Of his new role Andy says, “The changes in the railway industry over recent years have presented challenges to training providers. MTR has risen to these challenges and also diversified into other markets to enhance its long term future. The determination to embrace these challenges by working closely with its customers and its commitment to delivering a professional service reflects my own values and made the decision to join MTR an easy one’.
