A completely redeveloped station for which passenger information display specialist Infotec has provided a wide range of products and associated services has been officially opened by the Queen.

Infotec used LED technology to provide four new main boards, more than two dozen departure summary displays and more than 40 platform next train indicators. A total of 27 TFTs were installed in waiting rooms across the station, which replaces the obsolete plasma technology displays in the Brunel Arcade.

Terminal servers for connecting the CIS displays over an RS485 network are also among the products provided for Reading Station under the contract awarded to Infotec by NG Bailey.

The £500,000 project to enhance the customer experience required Infotec’s mechanical engineers to design the bespoke steelwork required at a number of locations across the new-look station.
