EKE-Electronics will supply train communication gateways for new Coradia Lirex (X61) commuter trains that Alstom Transport will deliver to Skånetrafiken in Sweden. Under the main contract, 49 trains will be delivered in 2009-2011.

EKE-Electronics scope of supply includes EKE-Trainnet® Gateways that manage data traffic in the train, including control and diagnostic data. The equipment racks that EKE will deliver consist of WTB and MVB communication modules and PowerPC-based central processing units. The EKE-Trainnet® Gateways are fully compliant with both IEC TCN standard and EN50155 standard for railway rolling stock.

Mr. Pekka Kuusela, Chief Executive Officer of EKE-Electronics Ltd comments: “We are very happy to support Alstom Transport in this project, and thus to continue our cooperation. For us, the Coradia Lirex X61 project is a successor of the Coradia Lirex X60 project for Stockholm Transport, where our gateway technology has already proven reliable. Our mission is to make the train manufacturer’s life easier, and our easy-to-configure TCN Gateway is a good example of this.”
