The company is supporting SCORE as part of a $50m on-call PM/CM contract with the SCRRA.

The LinkUS project involves a station modernisation by delivering a new concourse and building run-through tracks on a new viaduct over Highway 101 to enable run-through services.

The BNSF component comprises multiple projects along the BNSF San Bernardino Subdivision (SBS) to improve freight and passenger train operations.

As agreed, Hill will supervise the programme, as well as verify the costs, schedule and final outcomes of the projects.

Hill vice-president Mary Toutounchi said: “These projects are vital to realising the goals of the SCORE programme, and to realise them on time and within budget.

“Coordinating work and managing interfaces with ridership, regulatory agencies, and the impacted communities along the alignments will be critical to keeping work progressing as planned.”

The SCORE programme is planned to improve the network ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Hill CEO Raouf Ghali said: “Transit infrastructure in southern California is always a priority, both in terms of improvements and maintenance. The SCORE programme exemplifies the commitment of California’s taxpayers to smart, efficient, and sustainable public transit, and these two projects showcase that commitment.

“Hill specialises in complex rail programmes and projects, and LinkUS and BNSF will be significant additions to our California rail portfolio.”
