Primary Injection Testing : Necessity or Luxury?

A survey was recently conducted on the testing and maintenance of DC high-speed circuit breakers (DCHSCB). Various transport authorities around the globe were interviewed. The survey was conducted on behalf of Stevo Electric, a Belgian manufacturer of portable test equipment for primary injection testing.

Primary injection testing is still in its infancy. Europe is leading the way, but in other regions like the Americas and SE-Asia, primary injection testing is hardly done, if at all. It's strange to detect such major discrepancies anno 2015 as the world of transportation is flooded with global seminars, standardisation bodies and committees where best practices are shared.
