PEM

PEM® self-clinching fasteners are inserted in a hole in the workpiece. There the self-clinching fastener displaces the material in the region of the drill-hole. This material flows by cold-forming into a recess in the shank area of the fastener. A serration or a speciallyshaped head now prevents the workpiece from rotating, as the self-clinching fastener becomes one with the workpiece. In addition, the PEM self-clinching fasteners leave no damage or bulges behind on the back of the component.

Advantages:

  • Extremely stress-resistant even in thin sheets from 0.5mm
  • No special treatment of the drill-hole needed
  • No reworking of the thread
  • Ideal also for coated surfaces
  • High positional accuracy
