Dutch national rail operator NS has introduced emergency plastic bags called ‘pee-bags’, which passengers can use in an emergency, due to the lack of toilet facilities on some commuter trains.

The bags have a funnel-shaped plastic top and contain a highly absorbent material that turns urine into a gel-like mixture.

After use the bags can be sealed and thrown in the bin.

The portable urinal is made by the Travel John and is designed for the use of anyone without access to traditional or sanitary facilities.
