The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra, India, has started work on a Rs14.1bn ($285m) railway connecting Nerul and Belapur to Uran via Seawood in Mumbai.
The 27km line will provide connectivity to regions around the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and Nhava-Sheva, as well as the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport.

The line will serve ten stations, and will support 11 nine-car trains.
The project will be financed by the Ministry of Railways and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra, and is expected to be completed in four years.
