US Government has agreed to fund phase two of the Dulles Silver Line rail project, which will extend Metro services from Wiehle Avenue in Reston, Virginia, to eastern Loudoun County through Dulles International Airport.
The agreement has been signed between US Government, Loudoun and Fairfax counties, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and Virginia state.

Under the deal, Virginia will contribute $150m for the project, making it eligible for assistance from the US Government under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) programme.
The agreement will help reduce the cost of the second phase of the project by $1bn, bringing it to $2.8bn.
