Swedish State Railways (SJ) has awarded a contract to Faiveley Transport to modernise the door system of the 36 SJ 2000 high-speed trains fleet.
The more than €10m contract is part of SJ’s renewal and upgrade project of its SJ 2000 high-speed trains fleet, which were originally built in 1996.

Upgrades to the access doors will include fitting of an advanced electrical door system with more reliability and safety features, such as electrical sensitive edge, locking devices, and emergency access devices.
An electrical cylinder developed by Faiveley Transport will also be installed to keep existing frames and door leaves and to convert the doors from pneumatic to electric.
The contract also includes cover design, validation and production, and work will be carried out in the Faiveley Transport Door Center of Competence of Saint Pierre des Corps, France.
Faiveley Transport Nordic will support the company to handle project management, doors installation and customer support.
