China is planning to construct a new high-speed railway line to the US as part of four such international rail projects currently under consideration by the country.
A report by the state-run Beijing Times newspaper was cited by UK newspaper The Guardian as saying that the proposed 13,000km high-speed Beijing-US railway line would begin in north-east China and run up through Siberia.

From Siberia, the line would pass through a 200km tunnel underneath Bering Strait in the Pacific Ocean, before cutting through Alaska and Canada to connect to the continental US.
According to the report, the proposed project, dubbed ‘China-Russia plus America line’, would enable passengers to complete the entire journey between the two countries in two days with trains travelling at an average speed of 350km/h.
Speaking in support of the proposed project, the Chinese Academy of Engineering railway expert Wang Mengshu was quoted by the publication as saying: "Right now, we’re already in discussions. Russia has already been thinking about this for many years."
The other three rail projects currently being planned are claimed to be under various stages of development, the report said.

The second line would connect the far-western Chinese city of Urumqi to Germany running through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey
The third would be from the south-western city of Kunming to Singapore.
