Today's regional services need to meet a whole host of different demands, depending on the region, operator and connections to other forms of transport. What they all have in common, though, is the need to combine the attractiveness expected by passengers with the cost-effectiveness demanded by operators.

You can cover a broad range of requirements with the DESIRO family of trains. The train sets can be finished just as easily for mainline regional services as for suburban traffic. Bistros, toilets, multi-purpose areas and air conditioning are all possible, while low noise levels, low-level entrances, modern passenger information systems and transparent, appealing interior designs are always standard.

Our regional traffic concept is just as flexible when it comes to train safety, gauge and traction: the units can be fitted with diesel motors or electric motors running off DC or AC power supplies.
