Ingeteam Traction, Control and Auxiliary Systems for Rolling Stock
Ingeteam is a market leader specializing in electrical engineering and the development of electrical equipment, motors, generators and frequency converters. It deploys its products in four main sectors: energy, industry, marine and railway traction, seeking to optimise energy consumption while maximising generating efficiency. The company operates in Asia, Africa, Europe and North and South America and has more than 3,000 employees. Ingeteam’s business is built on foundations of research and development.
With a strong commitment to sustainable development and continuous improvement, the group works toward being an active element in the economic, social and cultural development of the regions where it is involved, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Promoting the use of renewable energy, the efficient use of natural resources and the recycling of waste are integral parts of the group’s environmental policy. The quality control procedures implemented by the group are based on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model.
In terms of corporate social responsibility, the group is constantly in search of innovative solutions aimed at achieving not only the highest rate of client satisfaction, but also the satisfaction of all people who interact with the group.
The development of solutions and systems for the efficient exchange of energy, combined with INGETEAM know-how on the Railways sector allow us to offers significant improvements on key factors for operators: exploitation costs, reliability, availability, maintainability and energy efficiency.
INGETEAM is an IRIS certified company.
Research and development
The strategy of INGETEAM is to continuously invest in research and development in the electrical/technical field.
We use the latest technologies available in the market to develop semi-conductors, applied to a broad range of voltage and power ratings. This investment allows us to obtain innovative products, adapted to the needs of the customer and geared towards increasing energy efficiency and reliability, and a significant reduction of operating costs. In the control area, the TCMS systems developed have been incorporated to some of the most advanced projects in the rail market.
Our vocation is to work side-by-side with our customers, from the beginning of the project, by contributing with out experience in analysing the performance of the systems, starting with the original system in the case of renovations, until a final optimal solution is attained, from the standpoint of performance and costs.
Rolling stock definition, design and engineering
Cooperation with our clients stretches from the vehicle definition, design and engineering, up to the turnkey supply of on-board electrical solutions, for both new rolling stock projects and fleet modernisation.
Train traction systems, traction converters and auxiliary power supply
Our traction systems, including traction converters, electrical machines and auxiliary elements, cover the entire range of catenary voltages (750VDC, 1,500VDC, 3,000VDC, 15kVAC and 25kVAC) for light tramcars, metros, EMUs, rail tractor units and high-speed locomotives.
We design and manufacture auxiliary power supply systems for rolling stock that are light and compact for the entire range of catenary voltages, with the possibility of being integrated into the traction converter.
Our offer includes battery chargers based on resonant or high-frequency circuits to minimise the space required and the weight, and that can be integrated with the auxiliary converter itself.
Train Control Management Systems (TCMS)
Ingeteam’s experience in the development and manufacture of control solutions, for application in different sectors, makes it a leader in the design and manufacture of vehicle control systems and man-machine interfaces.
Rail kinematic-energy recovery system with feedback to the grid: INGEBER for 750Vdc, 1,500Vdc, and 3,000Vdc systems
Ingeteam Traction has developed a system to recover kinematic energy in railways, which solves existing energy braking recovery limitations, feeding back to the electricity grid the energy that would be burnt on the train’s resistance. The energy can also be used or stored.
