Interconnect products and systems manufacturer RF Industries has received an order for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project in Hawaii.

Awarded by Stanley Access Technologies, the project involves the delivery of wiring harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for the under-construction urban rail rapid transit system in Honolulu.

The wiring will be for platform screen doors to keep the passengers safe from the railway lines.

The Honolulu Rail Transit Project involves the construction of a rapid transit system from Pearl Harbor memorial to Honolulu airport. The project will include 21 stations.

RF Industries was associated with the completion of the first nine stations of the project. With the new order, the company will supply the assemblies on the next four stations.

The project work is expected to be completed by April.

Established in 2005, the Honolulu Rail Transit Project aims to provide a swift and reliable transportation alternative for the commuters.

The elevated rail route will run from East Kapolei to Ala Moana Center, with stations at key locations of the city.

The first section of the project, between Kapolei and Aloha Stadium, is expected to begin operations in 2020 and the entire rail route is slated to commence services in 2025.
