French engineering and consulting group Systra has completed the acquisition of Dalco Elteknik, a Sweden-based engineering firm that specialises in railway systems and signalling.
The acquisition strengthens the French firm’s skills and resources, allowing it to offer comprehensive railway system services to both the Swedish and wider Scandinavian markets.
Systra Northern Europe senior vice-president Pascal Mercier said: "Today, Systra is working on the Ostlänken high-speed railway project, whereas Dalco Elteknik specialises in signalling for conventional railways.
"Tomorrow, together, we will have all the resources in hand to become a leader in railway engineering systems in the Swedish market.
"With Dalco Elteknik, Systra also gains a platform to expand our activities throughout the Scandinavian countries."
Dalco Elteknik, founded in 1987, employs 52 people and works in nine offices throughout Sweden. The company’s services include design services, planning, assessment, reviews, capacity analysis and project management.
