Malaysian high-speed rail authority MyHSR and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) have agreed to call for a tender to appoint a joint development partner (JDP) to help in the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.
Once finalised, the JDP will provide project management support, as well as technical and procurement advice associated with the HSR's systems and operations.
The JDP will also develop the technical and safety standards, which will be applied in the project.
In addition, the winning bidder will help the joint project team prepare documents for the upcoming tenders related to the joint aspects of the project. The work will include the appointment of the AssetsCo and OpCo International.
MyHSR noted the tender is open to companies with experience in advising large public-private partnership infrastructure projects such as HSR projects of similar sizes and complexity. Firms involved in providing project management, technical, commercial, or legal advisory services related to HSR or rail projects of more than 200km of track can apply for the bid.
A strategic project between the governments of Malaysia and Singapore, HSR seeks to provide reliable travel services between the two capital cities, as well as improve business relations and connect the peoples of both countries.
