US-based wireless products and services company LILEE Systems has provided communication and management solutions to five Class I railroads in the country.
Currently, there are seven Class I railroads across the US and LILEE Systems noted that in order to operate safely they require round-the-clock connectivity.
The company’s machine-to-machine (M2M) hardware and software connects thousands of signalling and comunications components, such as trackside, onboard, and back office.
The system continuously relays critical information for positive train control (PTC) across wireless and wired networks.
Software provided by LILEE Systems allows railroads to remotely monitor, control, and perform diagnostics to equipment without the physical presence of a field operations crew. It also reduces operational costs and improves performance.
LILEE Systems’ founder and CEO Jia-Ru Li said: "Our Class I rail customers depend on reliable technologies and responsive customer service.
"We are proud to be supporting our customers, deploying the next phase of safety and communications technologies based on the emerging Industrial Internet of Things."
