Grupo de Empresas consortium led by Alstom has won a €530m contract to build the Consorcio Linea 2 of Los Teques metro in Miranda state of Venezuela.

The work on the project involves the construction of a 12km line which will be served by six stations connecting the Venezuelan capital to the city of Los Teques.

The Grupo de Empresas consortium includes Alstom, Colas Rail and Thales, with each having a share of 60%, 22% and 17% respectively in the contract.

Alstom will deliver the engineering, integration and commissioning of the electromechanical works, as well as supply 22 metro trains of six cars each, medium voltage electrification, traction substations and part of the signalling equipment.

The company will have a share of €325m in the contract which is expected to be completed in October 2015.
