Helsinki City Transport HKL is to buy 40 new trams with a €60m ($65.4m) loan from the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).

Manufactured by Transtech, the new low-floor Artic model trams will replace the existing 1970 models and offer 50% more passenger capacity than previously, provide access for wheelchairs and prams and be more energy-efficient.
