Siemens has been awarded Quito’s Metro Line 1 electrification contract by the Acciona-Odebrecht construction consortium.
The contractual scope includes complete electrification of the new 20km-long, metro double-track. This involves supply and installation of 46km of rigid catenary, 11 traction power supply stations, 6km of flexible catenary, and 29 auxiliary power supply stations.
Siemens will also supply a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for monitoring and controlling the traction power supply.
