Bombardier has won a new $96m contract to deliver its CITYFLO 650 mass transit solution in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The project involves the design, supply, installation and commission of the system for the existing 8.4km line and six stations, plus the extension of the line by 11.6km with 11 new stations: 34 new trains in total.

The communication-based train control system will be installed on Line 5 of the Sao Paulo rail transit system.

The system will improve safety, capacity and reliability of transit systems as well as cut maintenance costs.
