Deutsche Bahn (DB) subsidiary DB Engineering & Consulting has acquired predictive maintenance solutions provider infraView for an undisclosed sum.

Based in the German city of Mainz, infraView focuses on the development of digital solutions to monitor, evaluate and analyse rail vehicles and other associated infrastructure assets.

DB Engineering & Consulting chairman of the Board of Managing Directors Niko Warbanoff said: “Working together with infraView’s specialists, we are broadening our expertise to encompass more digitalisation topics.

Prior to the acquisition, infraView supplied the DIANA diagnostics and analytics platform to DB.

Connected to more than 20,000 switches, the DIANA diagnostics and analytics platform is one of the largest digital switch diagnostics platforms in the world.

Last month, another DB subsidiary DB Station & Service extended its video surveillance contract with euromicron Deutschland by three years, with the option of an additional year.

The contract requires euromicron to deliver and install video surveillance systems at long-distance train stations.
