KEYMILE is a leading technology supplier of communications solutions for access and transmission systems. At InnoTrans 2012 in Berlin from 18 to 21 September, it will exhibit its extensive range of dedicated network solutions for railway and transport companies.

InnoTrans is the international premier fair for traffic engineering in Berlin. This year, KEYMILE will be in hall 6.1 on stand 218. One of the company’s focuses will be the access and transmission platform MileGate, which can provide Ethernet and native TDM technology from one single subrack.

MileGate has a hybrid backplane with a bandwidth of 10 GbE per slot. As a result, it can offer highly flexible, optical and electrical Ethernet interfaces with high port densities, as well as traditional services like analogue telephony, synchronous and asynchronous TDM connections. The EoS functions (Ethernet-over-SDH) enable easy crossover from TDM to Ethernet transmission technology.

A variety of redundancy functions implemented in MileGate ensures top availability of the transmission paths. Especially for use in dedicated networks, MileGate has a new platform-specific, chassis-switching concept where all Ethernet units installed are part of a modular switch. Therefore, network operators can adapt the access point to suit local conditions.

A retrofit is also possible. Thanks to the high level of interface density, each subrack has up to 480 active, optical GbE or 240 electrical interfaces. Extensive, native TDM functions and a large number of data interfaces are also available. Connection to the transmission network is flexible at n x 1/10GbE or n x STM-16/4/1. MileGate has a wide range of operating temperatures and runs fanless with all functions available. Consequently, it is ideal for use in outdoor cabinets along railway tracks.

At InnoTrans KEYMILE will also present the modular, TDM-based multi-service access systems XMP1 and UMUX, which are used by a large number of railway companies worldwide. It offers numerous interfaces for voice services (e.g. E&M, ISDN-telephony), data services (e.g. E1, V/X) and Ethernet. The services can be transmitted via an SDH-/PDH network and/or SHDSL paths.

At the trade fair, KEYMILE will also show the multi-drop transmission system LineRunner SCADA NG, which combines low and high-bit-rate data transmission via copper and fibre optics in a compact unit. An RS-232 and an Ethernet interface make seamless migration to Ethernet possible. With the multi-drop function, up to 63 units can transmit the telecontrol signals between data stations (signals, sensors, video cameras) via one single transmission path.

The showcase is rounded off with machine-to-machine solutions (M2M) for monitoring and controlling local components and mobile telephony networks. As a result, operators of dedicated networks can offer brand-new applications and service concepts, for example GPS-tracking of mobile units.
