TagMaster, the leading producer of advanced long-range and high-performance identification systems based on radio frequency identification (RFID) systems for automatic vehicle identification (AVI) solutions has announced that its premium partner, Tagmaster North America has added Monterrey International Airport (MTY) to its successfully installed customer base.

Monterrey International Airport (MTY) is located in Nuevo Le ón, Mexico, and is considered to be one of the most modern airports in US serving up to five million passengers per year. Parking Systems and Prosyss de Mexico, two trusted Mexican solution providers with a focus on the parking and security applications have taken the lead in this installation. This installation further strengthens the Tagmaster North America market presence in the airport sector and in the Latin American market.

After evaluating several alternative RFID solutions for taxi and shuttle management, the airport authorities have selected the TagMaster system because of the superior level of technology, functionality and proven reliability. Features like the frequency hopping functionality in the reader that prevents interferences with other existing radio communication devices at the airport and the ease-of use in setting up and configuring during installation has been important factors in the evaluation.

Each authorised taxi will be equipped with an ID-tag from TagMaster providing hands-free access control and so minimising the risk for human intervention error. In this way the solution only allows authorised taxis to conveniently access to the pick-up areas, thus ensuring travellers are transported to and from the terminals in a secure and safe manner. The result is that the end-user receives the highest level of customer service from the airport.

Tagmaster North America president, Ali Khaksar said: “It is an honor and privilege to work with the Parking System team in Mexico. Parking System’s extensive experience with RFID technology for automatic vehicle identification (AVI) was instrumental for the successful deployment of this project.”
