Rugged tablet PC supplier Xplore Technologies has revealed that its board of directors has selected Mark Holleran to serve as the company’s president and CEO, effective 3 April 2017.

Holleran succeeds Phil Sassower, who has served as the CEO of Xplore since 2006.

Sassower, who will remain as chairman of the board, said: "Mark has done an outstanding job as president and chief operating officer over the last 11 years, growing Xplore to become the number two supplier of rugged tablets.

"Over nearly 15 years at Xplore, Mark has built a track record of success as an exceptional leader and business strategist. His passionate commitment to delivering innovative rugged mobile solutions for our customers makes him the right person to lead Xplore forward.

"I have complete confidence in Mark and the leadership team at Xplore to deliver growth and profitability."

Holleran said: "With over 20 years of focus exclusively on rugged tablet solutions, Xplore has positioned itself as the authority on rugged tablet PCs.

"Our differentiated products, coupled with our strong network of channel partners, give us the opportunity to become one of the preeminent companies in rugged mobile solutions.

"I look forward to building on that foundation, expanding worldwide sales, and entering new addressable markets."

Holleran has served as COO and president of Xplore since 2006, and was previously vice-president of sales from 2003-2006.

Holleran brings more than 30 years of leadership and computing experience to Xplore; prior to joining the company, he served as CEO of WaveSat Wireless and was the country manager for Cabletron Systems, a manufacturer of networking computer equipment.
