Lineas and H.Essers are set to launch a rail terminal in Belgium, allowing for an easier cargo shift from road to rail.

H.Essers Railport Genk forms part of the Belgian Euro Terminal Genk, which was earlier owned by Lineas and LRM.

“The H.Essers Railport will allow customers in the Genk area to more easily shift to rail.”

Lineas Intermodal managing director Sam Bruynseels said: “The H.Essers Railport will allow customers in the Genk area to more easily shift to rail and use the existing and future direct connections out of Genk.

“Moreover, they can easily connect to the rest of Europe through the Lineas Green Xpress Network via Antwerp.”

H.Essers and Lineas will market the H.Essers Railport Genk terminal to develop domestic rail connections Genk-Antwerp and Antwerp-Ghent-Zeebrugge. This will assure better rail freight transport between Genk and the port cities.
