Keolis Odense Letbane is set to secure a contract to operate and maintain the light rail network in the Danish city of Odense.
The public transport authority of the city Odense Letbane named Keolis Odense Letbane as the preferred operator for 15 years. The contract is expected to be signed this month.

Overall, the contract is expected to generate a cumulative revenue of €230m.
Scheduled for opening by the end of 2020, the Odense light rail network stretches 14.5km and comprises 26 stations.
Keolis International CEO Bernard Tabary said: “We are pleased to be involved in the opening of Denmark’s second light rail network, which will make the city of Odense an even more attractive place to live and work.

Once opened, the Odense light rail network will connect Tarup in the northern part of the city and Hjallese in the south. The line will pass through the city centre and will serve the central train station.
Operating on the line will be 12 Stadler trains, each capable of carrying 210 people. The Odense light rail network is estimated to serve 12 million passengers annually.
The contract is expected to strengthen Keolis’ presence in Denmark, where it already operates Aarhus light rail network.
