US-based company Wabtec has made a minority investment in mobile wireless communications technology company Rajant in a bid to support the development of connectivity solutions for the global rail industry.

Rajant delivers private wireless networks powered by Kinetic Mesh network, BreadCrumb wireless nodes, and InstaMesh networking software.

It helps industrial companies to deploy a highly adaptable and scalable network, which leverages the power of real-time data to deliver on-demand, mission-critical business intelligence.

“Our investment in Rajant is aimed at growing Rajant’s communications technology in the rail market, leveraging both companies’ resources, technologies and industry expertise to develop best-in-class, secure connectivity solutions.”

Both companies have agreed to work together to jointly develop and commercialise Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh wireless networking products.

The Kinetic Mesh technology reportedly provides reliable and adaptable connectivity even in challenging mobile environments.
