The project included equipping the line with Bombardier’s Interflo 450 wayside and onboard control system.

The Interflo 450 signalling system includes all the trackside products required for the line and an automatic train protection (ATP) system.

An ERTMS/ETCS Level 2 ATP system displays actual and target speeds and presents them through a graphical alphanumeric and analogue format with both audible and visual alarms.

"Today marks a major step towards building a high-technology railway network in Poland."

Operating to Poland’s western border, the E30 line is part of the modernisation programme of the pan-European transport corridors to support interoperability.

Bombardier became the first supplier to have ERTMS authorisation for its EBI Cab 2000 onboard system in Poland and is the only supplier with an onboard solution approved to operate with the national signalling system (SHP-STM) in the country.

Bombardier Rail control solutions division president Peter Cedervall said: "Today marks a major step towards building a high-technology railway network in Poland.

"For Bombardier, delivery of this world-class solution adds another important global ERTMS reference, reflecting our technical and project management leadership in delivering today’s complex, cross-border mainline rail control technologies."

Bombardier is also installing Interflo 450 in Poland on the 148km Opole – Wroclaw – Legnica section of E30, the Warsaw – Gdynia section of the E65 main line as part of a consortium with Nokia Networks and Thales, and Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway lines.
