High-definition screens now display real-time service information, which is fed from the national Darwin data system.

This information is provided to help passengers know exact arrival and departure times during their journey, as well as  important information about connecting stations and services.

Hull Trains' engineering head Jon Plowright said: “The supply of real-time running information data during journeys is a significant step forward in terms of customer information and service.

“Hull Trains’ passengers will now be fully informed about all aspects of their journey prior to departure, on-board the train, and also on arrival at their station for planning onward journeys.

“The state-of-the-art equipment is an innovative solution to meeting the information needs of today’s customer.”

The new screens will also provide customers with additional information, including underground status updates, departure boards for interchange stations, and weather conditions at their destination.

Passengers will also be informed about any proposed engineering works, promotional offers, and services.

Besides Hull Trains and KeTech, the project also involves several other partners such as the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC), Angel Trains, Alstom, and Icomera.
