As part of the trials, Delhi Metro will also monitor the response of the train at different speeds, braking of the train and the interconnection with the operations control centre (OCC).

At the time of testing, the behaviour of the track system, as well as the over head electrification (OHE) will be checked repeatedly.

After the commissioning of this section, also known as the heritage line, it will enable residents of Faridabad and various south Delhi areas such as Govindpuri, Kalkaji, Nehru Place, East of Kailash to travel directly to Old Delhi.

Commuters on the yellow line between Central Secretariat and Kashmere Gate can also use the violet line to reach the same destinations.

The entire 9.37km long Central Secretariat – Kashmere Gate section will be operational after the commissioning of this section.

Central Secretariat will become a part of the 43.40km-long Escorts Mujesar – Kashmere Gate violet line corridor, which is also being extended to Ballabhgarh from Escorts Mujesar at present.
