Brightline president Mike Reininger said: “Our trains are among the most innovative in the US and the world, with every detail having been designed and built from the guest’s perspective, making it easy, convenient and comfortable to ride.

“We are looking forward to the launch our new express, inter-city service this summer. South Florida is very close to experiencing the future of train travel, a new travel alternative as an option to private cars on crowded roads.”

Featuring level boarding, Brightline trains use automated retractable platforms that are integrated into the car door systems of the train.

Before the doors open, the platforms extend up to 12in from the train and then create a flush surface for passengers to cross from platform to train.

"South Florida is very close to experiencing the future of train travel, a new travel alternative as an option to private cars on crowded roads."

The 32in interior aisles of Brightline provide enough space for wheelchairs and strollers to glide throughout the coach comfortably with access to all areas.

Each trainset has one Select and three Smart coaches, with riders able to reserve specific seats at the time of booking tickets through Brightline’s mobile application, website or station kiosks.

Brightline’s new 12-acre railroad operations facility ‘Workshop b’ serves to repair, maintain, clean and store the trains.

Siemens is also building four additional trainsets at its 60-acre rail manufacturing hub in Sacramento.

Trainsets are expected to be delivered in four BrightPink, BrightRed, BrightOrange and BrightGreen colours.
