The association includes organisations such as LEO Express, MTR Nordic, Regiojet, Trainline, NTV and WESTbah.

Allrail is expected to create a strong alliance between freight and passenger rail companies, which are committed to fair competition and open markets. All members of this association are keen to invest in rail services and set up new routes across Europe.

Allrail also intends to help the European rail sector become more competitive, thereby decreasing the dominance of rail incumbents in the market.

"The new association will focus on pursuing completely opened rail markets in all EU member states, non-discriminatory access and financing for rail rolling stock."

The association said that the sector must remove market access barriers to infrastructure such as rail tracks, infrastructure fees and rail-related facilities. It also supports the formation of a regulatory framework to avoid discrimination in the railway sector.

The new association will focus on pursuing completely opened rail markets in all EU member states, non-discriminatory access and financing for rail rolling stock, and competitive track access charges.
