Manchester Victoria railway station in the UK has reopened and resumed services after it was closed for more than a week following terrorist attack at the adjacent Manchester Arena.

The station was closed to conduct a forensic search of the whole location, reported independent.ie.

Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burham was quoted by the independent.ie as saying: “The response has been truly phenomenal from everybody.

"We've seen the best of our people, the best of our public services; the whole place has pulled together and helped everybody through what has been our darkest week.”

The attack was carried out by suicide bomber Salman Abedi following a concert by American singer Ariana Grande. The incident claimed the lives of 22 people and injured more than 100 others.

The investigation into the attack is still ongoing and Greater Manchester Police have recently uncovered a new image of Abedi carrying a blue suitcase on the day of the attack, reported BBC.

Sixteen people have been arrested in connection with the attack so far, including 14 who remain in police custody.
