BROADBAND DATA TRANSMISSION FOR RAIL APPLICATIONSThe combination of TELEFUNKEN radio communications technology, state-of-the-art network design and proven network technology is the basis of all TRainCom® integrated radio systems. Complemented by fast handover mechanisms, complex network scenarios supporting seamless data transmission to and from multiple vehicles can be reliably implemented. MULTIPLE DATA SERVICES FOR PASSENGERSMultiple data services for passengers and for operational purposes can be provided simultaneously, securely and without any interference to the microwave radio link of a TRainCom® system. Customers can choose between licensed and unlicensed frequency band designs; the TRainCom® system can also be adapted to customer-specific frequencies. According to the specific requirements of each rail application, TRainCom® systems are available as TRainCom® MT or TRainCom® HST. TRAINCOM MT – NETWORK COVERAGE FOR TRAINSDesigned to meet the classical requirements of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) and Automatic Train Operation (ATO) in mass transit or metropolitan rail applications, TRainCom® MT systems offer wide flexibility and scalability to realise integrated communications solutions for increasing communications demands. High reliability and system availability for hard operational requirements, as well as passenger services and public safety measures such as realtime video surveillance (CCTV), are all made possible via a broadband data link offering up to 16Mbps (16Mbps per up and down-link). Regardless of whether the track is in the open, elevated or completely in-tunnel, TRainCom® MT is the right choice to achieve full rail network coverage for passenger intercom and Passenger Information Systems (PIS), CCTV and CBTC. TRainCom® HST – BROADBAND AND FULL-DUPLEX LINK FOR TRAINSIncreasing demand for passenger communication services, particularly among business travellers, and ever-increasing security requirements, especially in high-speed train applications, are among the main factors that led to the dedicated TRainCom® HST systems. Based on quick handover mechanisms, TRainCom® HST systems can maintain a continuous data link between trackside radio base stations and vehicles running at speeds up to 500km/h. This broadband and full-duplex link of up to 16Mbps (16Mbps per up and down-link) supports all IP-based data services and can enable new options in train diagnostics and maintenance, passenger entertainment, and online ticketing applications.
