Isoflex - MONIFLEX® Insulation for the Railway Industry

For more than 30 years, MONIFLEX® has been used by the Scandinavian vehicle industry, primarily as insulation for rail vehicles. Over the years it has been both refined and improved upon, particularly in the area of fire resistance.

MONIFLEX® is a product made from the same, natural raw material as paper. In view of present attitudes to our environment and the use of natural resources, MONIFLEX® has emerged as the obvious ecological choice in insulation materials.

ISOFLEX AB BUSINESS CONCEPT

Isoflex AB is not only a supplier of insulation material. The business concept also includes transfer of knowledge and advice about insulation methods and equipment. All this is with the aim of optimising our customers material usage and production time.

TYPICAL MONIFLEX USAGE

MONIFLEX® consist of transparent sheets of insulation for any applications where resistance to humidity and vibrations in combination with low weight are important. For this and other reasons, MONIFLEX® has been used extensively in the transport and building industries.

Typical applications are tracked vehicles and as supplementary insulation in glazed industrial roofs and walls. MONIFLEX® is also used in shipbuilding and many special purpose vehicles.

NEW PRODUCTS

Recent product refinements and innovations are the pre-cut and custom designed insulation packets where Moniflex is combined with other materials, e.g. glass fibre and aluminium. This alternative offers greater flexibility and time saving installation:

Other advantages include:

  • Lightweight and rigid
  • Impervious to humidity and moulding
  • Recyclable and fundamentally biodegradable
  • Easy and economical to cut and handle
  • Non-toxic and non-fibrous
  • Long life
  • Run-off and diffusion
MONIFLEX® AND THE ENVIRONMENT

MONIFLEX® is a cellulose derived product, totally without taste and odour and generates on incineration, primarily carbon dioxide and water. MONIFLEX® contains no PVC. It can be cut and handled without protective clothing or equipment and causes no dust or harmful effects even after extended exposure. It ages very slowly.

MONIFLEX® can be recycled and incinerated without any harmful effects on the environment.
