BOGIES FOR ALL TYPES OF ROLLING STOCK

ALSTOM’s bogies are designed for world class quality in comfort, speed, stability, and safety. They have a guaranteed minimum 30-year bogie frame life-span. Maintenance requirements and related life-cycle costs have also been optimised.

ALSTOM currently produces steel-wheeled and rubber-tyred bogies for all track gauges, for a wide variety of mass transit applications, and for commercial speed ranges of up to 360 km/h.

Developments in bogie design for high-speed train applications (as recently demonstrated by the Double-deck TGV™) have contributed to ALSTOM's worldwide presence in this sector.

• Bogies for all types of rolling stock: complete bogies, sub-assemblies (bogie frames, axles, reduction gear assemblies, etc.) and all the necessary components to ensure safe and comfortable operation
• Bogie Renovation: the bogie is the part of the train system that is most subject to wear. Renovation greatly extends bogie lifecycles
• Modernisation: modern techniques can be used to improve braking performance, speed and comfort of old equipment
• Rehabilitation: the full bogie or part of the bogie can be redesigned, rebuilt, or replaced, using the latest CAD tools and methods
• Repair: repairs can be carried out on any bogie be it cracked, damaged by derailment, electric shock, handling, etc

DISPEN DAMPERS

For over 100 years, we have developed hydraulic dampers in close co-operation with our bogies team. In the last ten years, we have supplied rail operators all over the world with more than 130,000 dampers.

Hydraulic dampers play a key role in ensuring the safety, stability, and comfort of rolling stock. Designed with a high degree of precision so as to absorb very small movements and vibrations, they operate in vertical, horizontal, or inclined position, have a wide diameter range and are filled with high-grade hydraulic oil.
