DB Engineering & Consulting will design an electrified double-track railway from the Polish border to Kaunas via Marijampole.
The system is operational in the US and Canada, managed by Marmon Rail's UTLX and Procor brands.
The development is said to align the Philippines with other Southeast Asian nations, such as Singapore.
The new facility will offer “advanced” capabilities for the design, production, assembly, and testing of various train models.
The technology includes an imaging device and a processing unit that work together to capture, analyse, and prioritise visual data.
Construction is expected to be completed by October 2026.
