UK train ticket retailer Trainline has announced Klaus Kreher has been appointed as the head of Carrier Development.
The role will see Kreher be responsible for growing the company’s global network of rail carriers, and will report directly to business development director Ian Chaplin.
Trainline International general manager Daniel Beutler said: “Ensuring we continue to have deep expertise in rail is integral to our talent strategy.
“Klaus’s 25+ years of experience in the rail industry and deep understanding of global travel e-commerce and distribution will be invaluable as we continue to build carrier relationships in Europe and across the world.”
Kreher previously worked with global travel distribution systems provider Travelport for ten years as commercial director for rail. He was in charge of devising and delivering the commercial growth strategy and key account management for railway operators and suppliers in Europe, America and Asia.
Kreher created new partnerships with over 40 train operating companies across these three continents during his stint.
Kreher said: “I’m excited to be joining a fast-growing company that combines innovative tech with deep expertise in rail and look forward to working with Ian and his team to build and expand relationships with existing and new carriers alike.
“Ultimately, we want to build a global network of carriers so we can offer the broadest range of travel options for our customers.”
Trainline currently sells tickets for 48 train companies worldwide.
