OLRT Constructors has awarded a ten-year supply and maintenance contract to Otis Canada as part of the O-Train Confederation Line.

This is the first phase of the electric light rail transit (LRT) system under construction in Ottawa, Canada.

The contractual scope includes supply and maintenance of 54 elevators, including 44 Gen2 versions and ten special freight models, as well as modernisation of two existing lifts.

Siemens Mobility Division has awarded a £2m ($2.48m) contract to Petards, a security and surveillance systems provider, for supply of eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems.

"The new CCTV will improve security and surveillance on trains through internal and external coverage."

Systems will be installed in the new Desiro City electrical multiple unit (EMU) trains being built by Siemens.

Railcar manufacturer CRRC MA has been awarded a contract to deliver 120 Red Line cars as an extension to an earlier order of 132 cars by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), US.
