Russian Railways (RZD) has contracted Evraz to supply a variety of rail products over a five-year period.

The deal covers the delivery of up to 3.2 million tonnes (Mt) worth of products.

EVRAZ will provide low-temperature resistance, higher wear-resistant rails and switch point rails to RZD under the RUR111.7bn ($1.98bn) contract.

The rate of supply of the 100m rails will be gradually increased to reach 360,000t by 2020.

Société nationale des chemins de fer français Mobilités (SNCF) has awarded a $120m contract to Bombardier Transportation.

Bombardier will deliver nine Regio 2N trainsets to SNCF as part of the agreement.

Stadler Rail has secured a deal from Ferroviaria Andina S.A. (FCA) to supply three South American Light Loco (SALi) locomotives.

The locomotives are specifically designed to operate at high altitudes and address freight carrier requirements.

The contracted vehicles will be built at Stadler’s manufacturing plant in Valencia, Spain.
