IP-based voice and video communications for rail environments

Arcturus communications platforms are built using standards-based IP technology. Capabilities include Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) / Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) VoIP, secure RTP / SIP-TLS, narrow and wide-band voice processing, unicast or multicast audio distribution, h.264 or mJPEG camera encoding and video.

Various modes of operation are supported, including two-way, push-to-call intercoms for passenger assistance or driver / hostler comms, public address (PA) system, mass notification, pre-recorded announcements or text-to-speech (TTS) for passenger information, push-to-talk (PTT) and radio-over-IP (RoIP) for communications backhaul.

Optional integrated video services offer camera encoding at various pixel definitions and frame rates with streaming, storage and retrieval capability. Equipment includes options for self-testing, reliability and quality performance reporting, and failover operation, as well as audio intelligibility and psychoacoustic enhancements, including acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), noise reduction, microphone beam forming, and dynamic range control.

IP communication backhaul can be accomplished over wired or wireless networks using standard SIP infrastructure or peer-to-peer network topologies.

Device-centric network management solutions

Arcturus Mbarx provides an ecosystem of solutions for connected systems, complementing core technology by providing the security, management and supervisory control required by device-centric networks (IoT).

Mbarx is a certificate-based (PKI) trust-chain architecture that consists of endpoints, gateways, and tools. It is suitable for managing installations, providing cloud connectivity (host control) and creating interactive workflow systems.
