Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions (TISS) has secured a contract from Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation to deliver replacement electric equipment.
Under the agreement, TISS will supply replacement electric equipment for 30 Series 700T trainsets operated by the Taiwan High Speed Rail.

To be manufactured at the company’s Fuchu facility in Japan, the delivery of the equipment will start in the first of 2021.
The operations of the 345km-long Taiwan High Speed Rail started in January 2007. TISS will replace the previous equipment that it delivered via Taiwan Shinkansen Corporation.

In 2013, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Toshiba, in co-operation with Mitsui, secured a turnkey contract to provide trackwork, electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems for its 9.2km Nangang Extension Project in Taipei.
The contract included installation of track and electrification, along with the design and supply of signalling, telecommunications, power supplies and operation management systems on a five-kilometre section of the extension.
In February 2014, Toshiba won a turnkey order worth JPY2.8bn from the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC) to supply electrical and mechanical systems (E&M) for three new stations between Zuoying and Taipei.
The order included passenger announcement systems, passenger information systems, signalling systems, electrification and power systems, as well as the maintenance management information system.
