Network Rail and the British Transport Police have deployed a purpose-built police van fitted with nine cameras, which will be used to deter motorists in Scotland from using level crossings dangerously.

Network Rail has funded the £60,000 vehicle, which is equipped with number plate recognition technology and computer access, allowing the police to process the offenders immediately.
