Ferrovial subsidiary Agroman has signed an agreement with Spanish rail network Adif to carry out research into the development of a new rail slab track material that creates less noise and vibration.

Both the companies will carry out research in order to further the development of new building materials for slab track and track bed sensors for high-speed trains.

Under the agreement Adif will provide Ferrovial Agroman with a workspace at the testing and experimentation facilities in Antequera.

Adif is providing Ferrovial Agroman with a workspace in the Rail Technology Centre (CTF) at Antequera, Málaga in Spain.

The agreement is valid until 31 December 2012 with an option of renewal for a further two years.
