The low floor Coradia Nordic trains will have no steps in them, providing greater accessibility, and can run at a speed of 160 km/h offering 235 seats.

The trains are 95% recyclable and reduce energy use with its distributed power supply in the braking and acceleration of each carriage, the company said.

Alstom has already delivered 32 trains to Skånetrafiken from the earlier order of 69 trains, lodged in December 2006.

The delivery of the new trains is scheduled for 2013-2014.
