This is the third contract for the company in Germany; the three contracts are worth €210m in total, including delivery of braking systems and access doors.

Faiveley Transport energy and comfort director Olivier Ravit said, "We worked very closely with both Siemens and Deutsche Bahn to define a very precise technical response to the job specification."

"This collaboration will continue throughout the development process to guarantee complete customer satisfaction when the units are delivered."

Delivery of the first prototype will begin in 2014 and serial production will take place between 2015 and 2023.

Faiveley Transport chairman and CEO Thierry Barel said it is extremely important for Faiveley Transport to be part of the ICx project, which will be the backbone of intercity traffic in Germany over the next 40 years.

"The three orders confirm Faiveley Transport’s strategy and long term commitment to develop a strong presence in Germany, one of our key markets," Barel said.

Last December the company won a contract to supply door systems for Deutsche Bahn’s new ICx high-speed trains to be built by Siemens and Bombardier.

The scope of supply includes electrical sliding-plug access doors, each fitted with a sliding step.

Last year Siemens and Bombardier awarded Faiveley Transport a contract to supply brake equipment for Deutsche Bahn’s new ICx high-speed trains.

The contract involves supply of bogie-brake equipment with magnetic track brakes, air generation and air treatment with oil free compressors, and brake control electro-pneumatic equipment to about 300 ICx trains.
