The system will be delivered to the London Underground, under a deal awarded last year, in 2011.

As per the contract, Hima-Sella will deliver a fully integrated system for the control of tunnel telephones (TT), long line public address (LLPA), long line closed circuit television (LLCCTV) and an interface to London Underground’s telephone network.

Hima-Sella rail infrastructure account manager Chris Elliott said the award of this project is a significant milestone in the growth and development of the company’s rail business.

"It recognises our capability to undertake large, complex and time-critical projects and demonstrates our thirty years of experience in UK rail," Elliott stated.

The company said the new CCS system will employ proven and established technologies and also include an extensive alarm and event management suite.

Through its UK partnership agreement with Germany-based Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda (HFWK), Hima-Sella will deliver third generation DIKOS 310 technology.

Integrated to its own iCMS SCADA package, DIKOS 310 technology will create a single point of operation for the line’s controllers, the company said.

The system architecture will comprise server redundancy, a telephone concentrator, PA audio router and CCTV matrix and can be controlled from operator workstations.

Hima-Sella noted that the deal will help London Underground in migrating from the legacy system to the new system for the Central Line cost-effectively and with minimal risk.

For transport-related projects, the company offers track to train communication systems developed in-house by its own team of engineers. It also offers simple product components, such as tachometers, sensors, data loggers, CCTV cameras and large screen displays.
