First two of these projects are under construction as part of the Eagle P3 project, a public-private commuter rail project, where Balfour is also responsible for the delivery of the project.

As part of the initial phase of the new contract, Regional Rail Partners will design and construct the new 13-mile commuter rail line that will stretch from Denver Union Station to 124th Avenue, and will serve Denver, Commerce City, Thornton, Northglenn and Adams County.

Design work on the project will begin immediately, with the first groundbreaking slated for spring of 2014.

Balfour Beatty CEO Andrew McNaughton said: "This project builds on our growing experience in rail development around the world."
