Wynyard Station

New South Wales transport minister Gladys Berejiklian has announced an investment of $100m to upgrade Wynyard Station in Sydney, Australia.

This will bring improvements to the concourse and platforms, as well as developing a wider ticket gate area and refurbishments to the station and its retail outlets.

Berejiklian said: "We will also reduce clutter on the platforms, making it easier and safer to board and alight trains, which is one of the best ways to improve the punctuality of our services.

"We want to make public transport as simple and comfortable as possible for our customers and to encourage others out of their cars and onto trains, buses, ferries and light rail."

Wynyard Station will also benefit from the development of Barangaroo inner-city suburb of Sydney, construction of Wynyard Walk and light rail line linking Circular Quay to Central and on to Randwick and Kingsford.

When the upgrade work is underway, access in the station will be temporarily reduced, but the work is expected to be performed outside peak hours wherever possible.
